Tour de Fleece 2024

The Fiber Art Studio Tour is enthusiastically supporting Tour de Fleece. Happening 06/29/24-07/21/24. (Tour de Fleece is an annual spin-along that takes place during the Tour de France to celebrate spinning. The event encourages spinners to set personal goals and challenges. PRIZES-
Several ways team members can win prizes, both for in-person and online participation.

1. Go to the fiber art tour studio website, tour de fleece 2024 tab - https://fiberartstudiotour.com/tour-de-fleece-2024 - and download the TdF 24 Bingo Card. Fill in squares by completing goals. Details on card. Win a Prize!!!
2. Go to stops on the Fiber Art Studio Tour on Saturday 07/13/24 from 11am till 4pm and get a Free Handspun Pattern Prize!!!
3. DM the Fiber Art Studio Tour account with a photo of your hand-spinning progress during TdF for us to post. Extra chances of winning with fiber from a Fiber Art Studio Tour artist’s fiber. We will DM winners.

The tour stops are: Avalon Springs Farm in Mount Airy - https://avalonspringsfarm.com/ ; Colorstorms in Highland - https://www.colorstorms.com/ ; Flying Goat Farm in Frederick - https://flyinggoatfarm.com/ ; and of course Withers Wool in Woodbine - https://www.witherswool.com/ . The fiber art studio tour web site also has the events scheduled at each location during Tour de Fleece.

As always, Withers Wool will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10-3. Anyone coming to spin at Withers Wool for Tour de Fleece can use, while on site, roving from any bag - at no cost. AND take one ounce of that roving with them - again at no cost - to continue to spin with.

Spinners can either bring their own spinning wheel or use one of the wheels at Withers Wool. I will be available and happy to answer questions and demonstrate how to make selected art yarns - e.g. Thick and Thin, Puffs and Coils, Supercoils, Beehives, and Core-Spinning.

Fiber Art Studio Tour

The Fiber Art Studio Tour (FAST) is a group of fiber artists and farmers creating colorful yarns, rovings and many fibery finished goods. FAST artists are located in Maryland, but each artist is at their own locale and open their studios, farms & shops in unison once monthly - on Saturdays. (Withers Wool and Farm is open every Thursday thru Saturday 10 to 3. On the FAST sponsored days, we are open until 4.) Upcoming FAST days in 2024 are 14 September, 5 October, 30 November, and 7 December. The FAST Group Facebook link is: Fiber Art Studio Tour Group.
