Online Yarn Store
If you are looking for exquisite next-to-skin-soft yarn that is local and is sustainably produced, you are in the right place. All the wool and mohair in our yarn comes from the Angora goats and Merino sheep that are raised on the farm. No pesticides are used on the farm and all the fiber is skirted and cleaned on the farm. Some of our fiber is then sent to a local mill where it is picked, carded and spun into yarn; the online store contains a variety of these mill spun yarns.
Our mill spun yarns are a blend of wool from the Merino sheep and mohair from the Angora goats. The specifics of each blend are listed with the product. Merino and mohair is a great combination. Merino wool is next-to-skin comfortable and offers good warmth, reasonable strength, elasticity, and luster. Mohair is lightweight, warm and insulating, has nice drape and is hard wearing. Blended together the Merino Mohair mixture provides a yarn that is soft and light yet strong, hard-wearing and moisture-wicking. A few yarns have Kid Mohair; this is from the first shearing of the Angora goat and is exceptionally fine and soft.
Here is a review about the yarn from one of our customers
“I got the most beautiful and softest yarn I have ever seen from this shop at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival this year. I loved it so much that I messaged the shop to see if they had anything similar. The shop was so quick to answer my email with pictures of similar yarns. I will definitely be making my way up to their shop soon. Highly recommend!”
