The focus of this blog will be on Ravelry. Doubtless many reading this will have accounts at Ravelry and be very familiar with its features. If not, know that it is a free networking service and website that is focused on a variety of fiber arts, including knitting, crocheting, spinning and weaving. Ravelry has become the largest crochet and knitting pattern database in the world and has enabled designers to publish (and sell) their patterns without going through an established publication.
Withers Wool and Farm has an account on Ravelry that features many patterns. Recently I have been tidying up the account and have uploaded a number of patterns. Right now there are 15 patterns available and I’ll be adding a few more every week. (Many will need to purchased to be downloaded; a few are free.)
The most powerful way to use Ravelry is to establish an account, participate in one or more of the numerous groups, interact with other members and use the search function to find the patterns (and projects) you are interested in. Another advantage of Ravelry is that pattern attributes and notes are available for review – e.g. hook/needle size and yardage. Additionally, many patterns will have comments and “likes” giving you more insight into the pattern.
If you are a member of Ravelry, simply search on “Withers Wool and Farm” and our patterns can be found. If you are not a member of Ravelry, you can click on the following link and you will be taken to the Wtihers Wool and Farm designer page as a guest to view the patterns: https://www.ravelry.com/designers/withers-wool-and-farm
The default payment method to purchase a pattern is paypal. However, there is an option to use a credit card if desired.
Many of our patterns also have the completed project as a sample in the shop. (And, of course, all patterns are also available in the shop.)
So, check out Ravelry and if you do not have an account and are a fiber enthusiast, I encourage you to sign up and experience the great services Ravelry has to offer.
PS The pictures show a few of the projects made from the patterns.
