Two night ago we had our first middle of the night kid. I woke up about 2:15 and checked the cameras. The little guy in the first photo had just been born. This is the youngest doe that I bred this year and she did an awesome job. Baby was almost dry and standing. We pointed the buck in the right direction and all we had left to do was put the fencing around her to keep him with her and protect him from the other two pregnant does. She is a red who was bred to a white buck. A purebred white angora goat bred to a colored goat will give you white goats.
I am waiting for the two ewes in the second photo to deliver. Any time now. The lambs are interested in Gabriel’s bottle. Gabriel is looking up while Storm is sniffing.
The first set of kids is now roaming a larger area. That red chair is like a progress step. Both are now agile enough to jump on it. The second set of kids is still sleeping a lot. I will probably let them out to play with the other kids tomorrow.
The roving is the color way for my next Freeform shawl. The next photo is of the yarns that I have spun so far. I decided to not use the yellow since the yarns I used it in did not fit my plan. The yarn in the last photo is one of yarns that went into the shop based on this color way.
Hope everyone is being invigorated by the short warm spell!
