Winter is when I work with natural colors. I finished a bolero (shown) and a blanket, so I felt entitled to start a new project - a lap blanket in natural colored art yarn. I chose 9 different rovings and started with the lightest. I am spinning as I go because I need more yardage on the long sides and I do not want the same textures next to each other.
I currently have six Merino/Natural Colored lambs. Two are white and the rest are different shades of brown/black. The two white ones are adorable and the one that we had to spend more time with is fairly friendly.
The peacocks’ feathers are not full length yet but they are very striking. Visitors to the farm may pick a feather of their choice. (They are last year’s droppings.)
Cutie Pi, our social media angora goat star, is still super friendly and comes when we call. She does know her name! We try to keep tortilla chips on hand to give the smaller goats a treat.
I am slowly adding classes to my schedule based on requests. If you are looking for a little help or want to learn a new skill, please check out the Classes page. If it is not on my list, it could get there with your inquiry!
February 12, 2022, a Saturday, from 11-4 is the next Fiber Art Studio Tour. It is a great time to visit different fiber artists in their studios and catch a glimpse of how they create. Their website and Facebook page of the same name have the list of artists and a map of the locations. There will be tours every month and the farms will not all be the same, so be sure to check the artists each month. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask. The Internet can be tricky!
