Summer on the farm

It is getting hot and the animals are all looking for shade. Solo, the only angora goat kid I have so far this year, is almost a week old. He. Is nice and sturdy and can now run faster than I can. Not sure that is saying much!

I am settling down to a rhythm now that the virtual shows are done. I usually make a circuit around the animals to let them out and check on them. Then I head to my spinning wheel. It is great physical therapy for my ankle and relaxes me for the day. Then I either go wash and dye fleeces or card. Whether on the smaller carder in my house studio or the red bank barn depends on the weather. 85 degrees equates to 93 in the barn, if I do not open doors and windows and turn on fans.

I am currently working on new patterns and I have started designing more freeform yarns. I am shopping in my own stash in the barn for novelties that will inspire a color way. Check out my www.witherswool.etsy.com page, Facebook - Withers Wool, or Instagram - witherskathy pages to see what I have come up with.
